Inspect Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the each terminals.

    Resistance: 

    TERMINAL RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Terminals Resistance
    VCP1 - EP1 2.25 to 4.75 kΩ at 20°C (68°F)
    VCP2 - EP2

    If the resistance is not as specified, replace the accelerator pedal assembly.

  3. Reconnect the sensor connector.
    NOTE:
    • Be careful not to give a shock to the accelerator pedal assembly.
    • Be careful not to disassemble the accelerator pedal assembly.
