Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lexus GS 430 and 2002 Lexus GS 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check the power window master switch circuit using DTC check. See MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM article under COMMUNICATION DEVICES in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If the results are OK, check the following:
    • Driver Door ECU
    • Body ECU No. 1
    If the results are not good, go to the next step.
  2. Check the power window master switch. See POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the power window master switch. See POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Check the wire harness and connector between the power window master switch and driver door ECU. If the results are OK, check the following:
    • Driver Door ECU.
    • Body ECU No. 1.
    If the results are not good, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.
