Wiper Motor (Front)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus IS 300 and 2002 Lexus IS 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Low Speed

    Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, check that the motor operates at low speed. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If the operation is not as specified, replace the motor. See WIPER MOTOR (FRONT)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. High Speed

    Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, check that the motor operates at high speed. If operation is not as specified, replace the motor. See WIPER MOTOR (FRONT)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Stopping At Stop Position

    Operate the motor at low speed and stop the motor operation anywhere except at the stop position by disconnecting the positive (+) lead from terminal 1. See Fig 1. Connect terminals 1 and 3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead terminal 5, check that the motor stops running at the stop position after the motor operates again. If operation is not as specified, replace the motor. See WIPER MOTOR (FRONT)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
