Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BATTERY) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the E5 connector of the ECM.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      CONNECTOR SPECIFICATION

      Tester connection Clutch Pedal condition Specification
      D (E5-10) - Body ground Depressed Below 1 V
      D (E5-10) - Body ground Released 10 to 14 V
    1. NG : GO TO STEP 2 
    2. OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
  2. INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the clutch switch C12 connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      CONNECTOR SPECIFICATION

      Tester connection Condition /Specification
      C12-1 - C12-2 Switch pin free (Clutch pedal depressed) 10 kΩ or higher
      C12-1 - C12-2 Switch pin pushed in (Clutch pedal released) Below 1 Ω
    1. NG : REPLACE CLUTCH SWITCH ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
    2. OK : Go to next step 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLUTCH SWITCH ASSY - ECM) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      CONNECTOR SPECIFICATION

      Tester connection Condition Specification
      C12-2 - D (E5-10) Always Below 1 Ω
      C12-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (CLUTCH SWITCH ASSY - ECM) 
    2. OK : CHECK AND REPAIR HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (CLUTCH SWITCH ASSY - BATTERY)
