Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BATTERY) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the E5 connector of the ECM.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      CONNECTOR SPECIFICATION

      Tester connection Condition Specification
      PI (E5-13) - Body ground Ignition ON 10 to 14 V
    1. NG : GO TO STEP 2 
    2. OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSY - ECM) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the combination meter C7 connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      CONNECTOR SPECIFICATION

      Tester connection Condition Specification
      C7-13 - PI (E5-13) Always Below 1 Ω
      C7-13 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSY -ECM) 
    2. OK : Go to next step 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSY - BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      CONNECTOR SPECIFICATION

      Tester connection Condition Specification
      C7-27 - Body ground Ignition ON 10 to 14V

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - BATTERY) 
    2. OK : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE  OVERHAUL  )
