Floor Shift Parking Lock Cable Assembly: Replacement

REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (See OVERHAUL )
REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSY CTR (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT PARKING LOCK CABLE ASSY
1. Push the claw and disconnect the parking lock cable assy from the shift lock release link.

2. Using a screw driver, disconnect the parking lock cable assy from the shift lever plate.

3. Disconnect the cable clamp.

4. Turn the ignition switch ACC or ON.
5. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the cable from the upper bracket.

INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT PARKING LOCK CABLE ASSY
1. Turn the ignition switch ACC or ON.
2. Connect the cable to the upper bracket.

3. Connect the cable clamp.

4. Shift the shift lever to N position.
5. Using a small screwdriver, unlock the claw of the lock key of automatic adjustment part.

6. Pass the parking lock cable through the hole of shift lever plate.
7. Insert the slide cap into the shift lever plate.

8. Apply MP grease to the shift lock release link.
9. Insert the lever pin into the hole in the cable end.

10. Lock the lock key.
  NOTE:
  At this time, the shift lever should be in N position and the ignition key should be set to ACC or ON.
