Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU -AIRBAG ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the H14 HV control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the A18 airbag ECU connector.
    3. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage between the terminal of the HV control ECU connector and body ground.
      1. Standard: 
      VOLTAGE CHECK

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ABFS (H14-20) - Body ground Below 1 V
    5. Turn the power switch OFF.
    6. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      1. Standard (Check for open): 
      RESISTANCE CHECK

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ABFS (H14-20) - GSW2 (A18-22) Below 1Ω
      1. Standard (Check for short): 
      RESISTANCE CHECK

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ABFS (H14-20) or GSW2 (A18-22) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    7. Reconnect the airbag ECU connector.
    8. Reconnect the HV control ECU connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: REPLACE AIR BAG ECU ASSY (See  AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS  )
