Back Door: Overhaul

NOTE: The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.
  1. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH CENTER 
    1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 5 clips and remove the garnish center.
  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH 
    1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clips and remove the side garnish.
  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH 
    1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clips and remove the side garnish.

  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR PULL STRAP 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the strap cover.
      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2. Remove the bolt and strap.

  5. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSY 
    1. Using the screwdriver, disengage the 14 clips and remove the trim board.
      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2. Remove the service hole cover from the trim board.

  6. REMOVE BACK-UP LAMP ASSY LH (See  ANTENNA CORD  ) 
  7. REMOVE BACK-UP LAMP ASSY RH (See  ANTENNA CORD  ) 
  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH SUB-ASSY OUTSIDE (See  BACK DOOR GARNISH SUB-ASSY OUTSIDE  ) 
  9. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and lock.

  10. REMOVE BACK DOOR BASE STOPPER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 stopper brackets.
  11. REMOVE BACK DOOR STOPPER LOWER 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 stoppers.
  12. REMOVE REAR SPOILER COVER (See  REAR SPOILER COVER  ) 
  13. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY SUB-ASSY LH (See  COMPONENTS  12) 
  14. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY SUB-ASSY RH (See  COMPONENTS  12) 
  15. INSTALL BACK DOOR STOPPER LOWER 
    1. Install the 2 stoppers with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf) 

  16. INSTALL BACK DOOR BASE STOPPER BRACKET 
    1. Install the 2 stopper brackets with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf) 

  17. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY 
    1. Install the lock with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 12.5 N.m (112 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)

  18. INSTALL BACK DOOR PULL STRAP 
    1. Install the strap with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 42 in.lbf) 

    2. Install the strap cover.
