Knock Sensor (1GR-FE): Replacement

  1. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD SUB-ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  2. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE A

  3. REMOVE WATER OUTLET PIPE NO. 1 
    1. Remove the 4 wire harness clamps.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and the water outlet pipe.

  4. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the 2 knock sensor connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 knock sensors.

  5. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR 
    1. Install the 2 knock sensors with the 2 bolts as shown in Fig 4 .

      Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

    2. Connect the 2 knock sensor connectors.

  6. INSTALL WATER OUTLET PIPE NO. 1 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  7. CONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE A 
  8. INSTALL CYLINDER HEAD SUB-ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  )
