Power Mirror Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Check the resistance.
      1. Press L on the left/right adjustment switch.
      2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard: 

        TERMINAL CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

        Terminal Connection Mirror Switch Condition Specified Condition
        4 (VL) - 8 (B)
        6 (M+) - 7 (E)
        UP Below 1
        4 (VL) - 7 (E)
        6 (M+) - 8 (B)
        DOWN Below 1
        5 (HL) - 8 (B)
        6(M+)-7 (E)
        LEFT Below 1
        5 (HL) - 7 (E)
        6 (M+) - 8 (B)
        RIGHT Below 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch.

      3. Press R on the left/right adjustment switch.
      4. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard: 

        TERMINAL CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

        Terminal Connection Mirror Switch Condition Specified Condition
        3 (VR) - 8 (B)
        6 (M+) - 7 (E)
        UP Below 1
        3 (VR) - 7 (E)
        6 (M+) - 8 (B)
        DOWN Below 1
        2 (HR) - 8 (B)
        6 (M+) - 7 (E)
        LEFT Below 1
        2 (HR) - 7 (E)
        6 (M+) - 8 (B)
        RIGHT Below 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch.

  2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    1. Check the operation.
      1. Apply battery voltage to the terminals and check the operation of the mirror face, as shown in the table and illustration.

        Standard: 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION

        Measurement Condition Mirror Operation
        Battery positive (+) - 3 (MV)
        Battery negative (-) - 1 (M+)
        Turns upward (A)
        Battery positive (+) - 1 (M+)
        Battery negative (-) - 3 (MV)
        Turns downward (B)
        Battery positive (+) - 2 (MH)
        Battery negative (-) - 1 (M+)
        Turns left (C)
        Battery positive (+) - 1 (M+)
        Battery negative (-) - 2 (MH)
        Turns right (D)

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

  3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    1. Check the operation.
      1. Apply battery voltage to the terminals and check the operation of the mirror face, as shown in the table and illustration.

        Standard: 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION

        Measurement Condition Mirror Operation
        Battery positive (+) - 3 (MV)
        Battery negative (-) - 1 (M+)
        Turns upward (A)
        Battery positive (+) -1 (M+)
        attery negative (-) - 3 (MV)
        Turns downward (B)
        Battery positive (+) - 2 (MH)
        Battery negative (-) - 1 (M+)
        Turns left (C)
        Battery positive (+) - 1 (M+)
        Battery negative (-) - 2 (MH)
        Turns right (D)

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
