Inspection Procedure

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BATTERY)
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in ECM - BATTERY (3MZ-FE) and ECM - BATTERY (2AZ-FE)

Standard voltage:
3MZ-FE
ECM - BATTERY (3MZ-FE)Tester connection Clutch Pedal condition Specification D (E5-10) - Body ground Depressed Below 1 V D (E5-10) - Body ground Released 10 to 14 V 2AZ-FE
ECM - BATTERY (2AZ-FE)Tester connection Clutch Pedal condition Specification D (E5-21) - Body ground Depressed Below 1 V D (E5-21) - Body ground Released 10 to 14 V
NG: Go to step 2
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the clutch switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CLUTCH SWITCH
.
Standard resistance
CLUTCH SWITCHTester connection Condition Specification 1 - 2 Switch pin free (Clutch pedal depressed) 10 kΩ or higher 1 - 2 Switch pin pushed in (Clutch pedal released) Below 1 Ω
NG: REPLACE CLUTCH SWITCH
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CLUTCH SWITCH - ECM (3MZ-FE) and CLUTCH SWITCH - ECM (2AZ-FE)

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CLUTCH SWITCH - ECM (3MZ-FE) and CLUTCH SWITCH - ECM (2AZ-FE)
