Inspection Procedure

CHECK SYMPTOM
1. Check if sound is momentarily muted while opening or closing the convertible top.
  OK: Sound is momentarily muted.
NG: Go to step 2

OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

INSPECT COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH

Disconnect the courtesy light switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Resistance

RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
1 - 2	ON (Shaft is not pressed)	Below 1 Ω
1 - 2	OFF (Shaft is pressed)	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPLACE COURTESY LAMP SWITCH

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY)

Disconnect the connectors from the stereo component amplifier assembly and courtesy light switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Resistance

RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITION RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITION

Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
TSSW - 1	Always	Below 1 Ω
TSSW - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - BODY GROUND)
