Automatic Transaxle Assembly: Removal

REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE PROTECTOR
1. Remove the 2 bolts and case protector.
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH
HINT:

(See REMOVAL )

SST 09520-01010, 09520-24010 (09520-32040)
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE SUPPORT
1. Remove the bolt and control cable support.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET NO. 1
1. Remove the 2 bolts and control cable bracket.

DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS
1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp bracket.

2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 wire harnesses.
DISCONNECT CONNECTOR
1. Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
2. Disconnect the park / neutral position switch connector.
3. Disconnect the transmission revolution sensor connector.

REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUBASSEMBLY
1. Remove the ATF lever gauge.
2. Remove the 2 bolts, oil cooler tube clamp and oil filler tube.
3. Remove the O-ring from the oil filler tube.

REMOVE OIL COOLER OUTLET TUBE NO. 1
1. Using a SST, remove the oil cooler outlet tube No. 1.

REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH
1. Remove the 3 bolts and engine mounting bracket LH from the automatic transaxle.

REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET FRONT
1. Remove the 2 bolts and engine mounting bracket front from the automatic transaxle.
REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING UNDER COVER

REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
1. Turn the crankshaft to gain access and remove the 6 bolts while holding the crankshaft pulley bolt with a wrench.
  HINT:
  
  There will be one yellowish green colored bolt.

2. Remove the 6 bolts.
3. Remove the automatic transaxle from the engine.
REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
INSPECT TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
