Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT TERMINAL VOLTAGE (IDL) 
    1. Remove the cruise control ECU assembly with connector still connected.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Measure voltage between terminal 13 (IDL) of cruise control ECU assembly connector and body ground when the throttle valve is fully closed and fully opened.

      OK 

      TERMINAL VOLTAGE (IDL)

      Throttle Valve Position Voltage
      Fully opened 10 to 16 V
      Fully closed Below 1.5 V

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

    NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CRUISE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between cruise control ECU assembly and ECM (See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS ).

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    NG: CHECK AND REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
