How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

The intelligent tester can be used in steps  4,  6,  8 and  9.

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Confirm problem symptoms (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
  3. PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR CHECK 

    GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. DTCs CHECK (Present and Past DTCs) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result 

      DTCs CHECK (PRESENT AND PAST DTCS) (1 OF 2)

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output. A
      DTC is not output. B

    B: GO TO  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. DTCs CHART 

    GO TO NEXT STEP 

  6. CIRCUIT INSPECTION 

    GO TO NEXT STEP 

  7. REPAIR 

    GO TO NEXT STEP 

  8. CLEAR DTCs (Present and Past DTCs) 
    1. Clear DTCs.
  9. DTCs CHECK (Present and Past DTCs) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result 

      DTCs CHECK (PRESENT AND PAST DTCs) (2 OF 2)

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output. A
      DTC is output. B

    B: Go to step   5 

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  10. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 
    1. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator condition.

      Result 

      PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR CONDITION

      Result Proceed to
      Passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator is operating normally. A
      Passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator ("OFF") and SRS warning light come on. B

    B: Go to step   5 

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  11. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    END
