Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When using the intelligent tester to troubleshoot the LIN communication line: Connect the intelligent tester to the vehicle, and turn the courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins.
  1. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (LIN COMMUNICATION) 
    1. Use the Data List to check the function of the power window regulator master switch.
      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
      2. Turn the ignition switch ON and turn the tester ON.
      3. Select the following menu items: BODY / BODY ECU / DATA LIST / COM D-DOOR MTRr.
      4. Read the indication displayed on the tester.

      Main body ECU 

      MAIN BODY ECU CHECK

      Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Status
      COM D-DOOR MTR Connection status between power window regulator motor assembly (driver side) and main body ECU / OK or Stop OK: Connection
      Stop: No connection

      OK: OK is displayed on the intelligent tester screen. 

    NG: GO TO  DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST 

    OK: Go TO NEXT STEP. 

  2. CHECK OPERATION FUNCTION AFTER IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF 
    1. Check the power window operation function after the ignition switch is turned off.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Status Proceed to
      When power window can still be operated even after opening driver door and passenger door within approximately 45 seconds of ignition switch being turned off A
      When power window can still be operated even after approximately 45 seconds have elapsed after ignition switch turned off B

    B: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side) 

    A: Go TO NEXT STEP. 

  3. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH) 
    1. Use the Data List to check the driver side door courtesy switch signal.
      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
      2. Turn the ignition switch ON and turn the tester ON.
      3. Select the following menu items: BODY / BODY ECU / DATA LIST / D DOR CTY SW.
      4. Read the indication displayed on the tester.

      Main body ECU 

      MAIN BODY ECU CHECK

      Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Status
      D DOR CTY SW Driver side door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver door open
      OFF: Driver door closed
      P DOR CTY SW Front passenger side door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger door open
      OFF: Front passenger door closed

      OK: OK is displayed on the intelligent tester screen. 

    OK: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (MAIN BODY ECU) 

    NG: Go TO NEXT STEP. 

  4. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Switch body Pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - Switch body Not pushed Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go TO NEXT STEP. 

  5. CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Measure the voltage without removing the IA junction block connector.

      Standard voltage: 

      for Driver side 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Driver Door Condition Specified Condition
      IA-21 (DCTY) - Body ground Fully closed 10 to 14 V
      IA-21 (DCTY) - Body ground Open Below 1 V

      for Passenger side 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Driver Door Condition Specified Condition
      IC-14 (PCTY) - Body ground Fully closed 10 to 14 V
      IC-14 (PCTY) - Body ground Open Below 1 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (MAIN BODY ECU)
