Power Window Master Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the resistance of the power switch.

      Standard resistance: 

      for Front passenger switch 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Window Lock Switch Condition Power Window Switch Condition Specified Condition
      H2-1 (E) - H2-15 (D)
      H2-6 (B) - H2-16 (U)
      OFF UP Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-16 (U)
      H2-1 (E) - H2-15 (D)
      OFF OFF Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-16 (U)
      H2-6 (B) - H2-15 (D)
      OFF DOWN Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-15 (D) ON UP 10 kΩ or higher
      H2-6 (B) - H2-16 (U) Below 1 Ω
      H2-16 (U) - H2-15 (D) ON OFF Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-16 (U) ON DOWN 10 kΩ or higher
      H2-6 (B) - H2-15 (D) Below 1 Ω

      for Rear LH switch 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      H2-1 (E) - H2-13 (D)
      H2-6 (B) - H2-12 (U)
      OFF UP Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-12 (U)
      H2-1 (E) - H2-13 (D)
      OFF OFF Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-12 (U)
      H2-6 (B) - H2-13 (D)
      OFF DOWN Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-13 (D) ON UP 10 kΩ or higher
      H2-6 (B) - H2-12 (U) Below 1 Ω
      H2-12 (U) - H2-13 (D) ON OFF Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-12 (U) ON DOWN 10 kΩ or higher
      H2-6 (B) - H2-13 (D) Below 1 Ω

      for Rear RH switch 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      H2-1 (E) - H2-18 (D)
      H2-6 (B) - H2-10 (U)
      OFF UP Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-10 (U)
      H2-1 (E) - H2-18 (D)
      OFF OFF Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-10 (U)
      H2-6 (B) - H2-18 (D)
      OFF DOWN Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-18 (D) ON UP 10 kΩ or higher
      H2-6 (B) - H2-10 (U) Below 1 Ω
      H2-10 (U) - H2-18 (D) ON OFF Below 1 Ω
      H2-1 (E) - H2-10 (U) ON DOWN 10 kΩ or higher
      H2-6 (B) - H2-18 (D) Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the master switch and check that the AUTO light illuminates.

      OK: Go TO NEXT STEP. 

      MEASUREMENT SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 3 (LED)
      Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1 (E)
      AUTO light illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.
