Air Conditioning Control Assembly: Inspection
- INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY
- Inspect the blower switch.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition - OFF 10 kΩ or higher 5 - 6 LO Below 1 Ω 2 - 5 - 6 M1 Below 1 Ω 1 - 5 - 6 M2 Below 1 Ω 4 - 5 - 6 HI Below 1 Ω If the resistance is not as specified, replace the air conditioning control assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Inspect illumination operation.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3, then check that the illuminations light up.
If the bulb does not light up, replace the bulb.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3, then check that the illuminations light up.
- Inspect the defroster mode switch.
- Inspect the blower switch.
- INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Inspect the A/C switch.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition 8 - 9 A/C switch: ON Below 1 Ω 8 - 10 A/C switch: ON 2.2 kΩ If the resistance is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Inspect indicator operation.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 10 while the A/C switch is pressed, then check that the illuminations light up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 10 while the A/C switch is pressed, then check that the illuminations light up.
- Inspect the R/F switch.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 - 3 R/F switch: RECIRCULATION Below 1 Ω 2 - 3 R/F switch: FRESH 10 kΩ or higher If the resistance is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Inspect indicator operation.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4, then check that the indicator lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4, then check that the indicator lights up.
- Inspect illumination operation.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then check that the illuminations light up.
If the bulb does not light up, replace the bulb.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then check that the illuminations light up.
- Inspect the A/C switch.
