Transmission Control Cable Assembly: Removal

- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER

- REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER

- SEPARATE OXYGEN SENSOR CONNECTOR
- Remove the foot rest.
- Pull up the floor carpet.
- Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
- REMOVE FLOOR PANEL BRACE FRONT
- Remove the 2 nuts and floor panel brace.
- REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY FRONT

- REMOVE FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR NO.1
- Remove the 3 nuts and heat insulator.
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
- Remove the nut and disconnect control cable from control shaft lever.
- Remove the clip and disconnect the control cable from the bracket.
- Disconnect the control cable from control cable support.
- Remove the 2 nuts and separate the control cable from the body.
- Remove the cable end from the floor shift assembly.
- Using a screwdriver, disconnect the control cable from the shift lever plate.
HINT:
Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Pull out the control cable assembly from the body.
- Remove the retainer from the shift cable.
