On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT REAR WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the rear wiper relay connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R13-3 (+B) - Body ground Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V
      R13-3 (+B) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Wiper Switch Position Specified Condition
      R13-6 (LS) - Body ground LO (ON) Below 1 Ω
      R13-2 (C1) - Body ground INT Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the rear wiper relay connector.
    5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    6. Make sure that the glass hatch is closed.
    7. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Wiper Switch Position Specified Condition
      R13-6 (LS) - Body ground OFF 9.5 V or higher
      R13-3 (+B) - R13-4 (LM) LO (ON) Below 0.5 V
      R13-6 (LS) - Body ground LO (ON) Below 0.5 V
      R13-2 (C1) - Body ground INT Below 0.5 V
      R13-4 (LM) - R13-5 (SM) LO (ON) → OFF (during wiper operation) Below 0.5 V
