Inspection Procedure
- SYSTEM CHECK
- Turn the light control switch to the TAIL or HEAD position.
Check if other displays or indicators such as the A/C switch indicator come on.
OK: Other displays or indicators come on.
NG: GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM
OK : Go to next step.
- Turn the light control switch to the TAIL or HEAD position.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RH R/B - RADIO RECEIVER)

- Disconnect the radio receiver R16 connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the values in the table below.
Standard voltage
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester connection Condition Specified condition ILL+ (R16-2) - Body ground (1) Light control switch TAIL 10 to 14 V ILL+ (R16-10) - Body ground (2) Light control switch TAIL 10 to 14 V (1) Separate Type Amplifier (2) Built-in Type Amplifier
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK : Go to next step.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT)

- Disconnect the radio receiver R16 or R17 connector and light control rheostat R8 connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below. Standard:
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester connection Specified condition ILL- (R16-12) - ILL+ (R8-2) (1) Below 1 Ω ILL- (R16-12) - Body ground (1) 10 kΩ or higher ILL- (R17-5) - ILL+ (R8-2) (2) Below 1 Ω ILL- (R17-5) - Body ground (2) 10 kΩ or higher (1) Separate Type Amplifier (2) Built-in Type Amplifier
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK : Go to next step.
- INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
- Reconnect the light control rheostat R8 connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester connection Condition Specified condition ILL+(R8-2) - Body ground Light control switch OFF → TAIL (Light intensity is max.) Below 1 V → 10 to 14 V
NG: REPLACE LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
