Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR BRANCH 
    1. Disconnect the S13 steering angle sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION - SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S13-10 (CANH) - S3-9 (CANL) Power switch OFF 54 to 69 Ω

    NG : REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR BRANCH WIRE AND CONNECTOR (CANH, CANL) 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION - SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S13-2 (ESS) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION - SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S13-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 10 to 14 V

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK : REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
