Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Install a new gasket to the sensor.
    2. Install the sensor.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the sensor connector.

  2. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Set a new gasket on each cylinder head.
      NOTE:
      • Align the port holes of the gasket and cylinder head.
      • Be careful of the installation direction.

    2. Set the intake manifold on the cylinder heads.
    3. Install and uniformly tighten the 10 bolts in several passes.

      Torque: 26 N*m (265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)

    4. Connect the 6 fuel injector connectors.
  3. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK 
    1. Install the intake air surge tank (See INSTALLATION ).
  4. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
  8. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
