Inspection Procedure

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BATTERY)

Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the ECM connector.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage

VOLTAGE CHART

Tester connection	Clutch Pedal condition	Specification
E5-21 (D) - Body ground	Depressed	Below 1 V
E5-21 (D) - Body ground	Released	10 to 14 V

NG: Go to step 2

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH

Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the clutch switch connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART

Tester connection	Condition	Specification
1 - 2	Switch pin free (Clutch pedal depressed)	10 kΩ or higher
1 - 2	Switch pin pushed in (Clutch pedal released)	Below 1 Ω

NG: REPLACE CLUTCH SWITCH

OK: Go to next step

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLUTCH SWITCH - ECM)

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART

Tester connection	Condition	Specification
C12-2 - E5-21 (D)	Always	Below 1 Ω
C12-2 - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (CLUTCH SWITCH - ECM)

OK: CHECK AND REPAIR HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (CLUTCH SWITCH - BATTERY)
