Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT RELAY 
    1. Inspect ACC relay and IG1 relay continuity.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART

        Tester connection Specified condition
        3 - 5 10 kΩ or higher
        3 - 5 Below 1 Ω (When battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 - 2)

    NG: REPLACE RELAY 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (ACC, IG) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE CHART

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      2G-9 - 2F-16 Ignition switch OFF → ACC, ON Below 1 V → 10 to 14 V
      2G-29 - 2F-16 Ignition switch OFF → ON Below 1 V → 10 to 14 V

    NG: Go to step 3 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the 2A connector from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE CHART

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      2A-1 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BATTERY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE CHART

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      2G-10 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the 2F connector from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      2F-16 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GROUND CIRCUIT) 

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - IGNITION SWITCH)
