System Outline
When the ignition SW is turned on, current flows to TERMINAL 8 of the front wiper and washer SW, TERMINAL 2 of the front wiper motor through the WIPER fuse and TERMINAL 2 of the windshield wiper motor through the WASHER fuse.
- Low Speed Position
When the front wiper SW is turned to the LO position, current flows in TERMINAL 8 of the front wiper and washer SW, out TERMINAL 7 to TERMINAL 1 of the front wiper motor, and finally out TERMINAL 5 to GROUND and causes the front wiper motor to run at low speed.
- High Speed Position
When the front wiper SW is turned to the HI position, current flows in TERMINAL 8 of the front wiper and washer SW, out TERMINAL 9 to TERMINAL 4 of the front wiper motor, and finally out TERMINAL 5 to GROUND and causes the front wiper motor to run at high speed.
- INT Position
When the front wiper SW is turned to the INT position, the wiper relay activates and current flows in TERMINAL 8 of the front wiper and washer SW then out TERMINAL 5 to GROUND. This activates the intermittent circuit and current flows in TERMINAL 8 of the front wiper and washer SW then out TERMINAL 7 to TERMINAL 1 of the front wiper motor and finally out TERMINAL 5 to GROUND activating the wipers.
The intermittent operation is controlled by the charge/discharge function of the condenser installed in the relay, and the intermittent time is controlled by a time control SW (w/ intermittent volume SW) to change the charging time of the condenser.
- Mist Position
When the front wiper SW is turned to the MIST position, the current flows in TERMINAL (B) 2 of the front wiper and washer SW, out TERMINAL 7 to TERMINAL 1 of the front wiper motor then out TERMINAL 5 to GROUND and causes the front wiper motor to run at low speed.
- Washer Continuous Operation
When the front washer SW is turned on, current flows from TERMINAL 2 of the front washer motor then out TERMINAL 1 to TERMINAL 4 of the front wiper and washer SW and out TERMINAL 5 to GROUND, and causes to the washer motor to run, and the window washer jet operates. This causes current to flow to the washer continuous operation circuit in TERMINAL 8 of the front wiper and washer SW then out TERMINAL 7 to TERMINAL 1 of the front wiper motor and out TERMINAL 5 to GROUND and the washer operates continuously.
