System Outline

Current is applied at all times to TERMINAL 1 of the combination meter through the DOME fuse.

When the ignition SW is turned to the ON position, current flows to TERMINAL 21 of the combination meter through the GAUGE fuse. When the light control SW is turned to the Tail or Head position, current is applied to TERMINAL 4 of the combination meter through the TAIL fuse via the TAIL relay (USA) or the light control SW (Canada).

  1. Light Reminder System

If the light control SW is in the Tail or Head position, the ignition SW is turned from the ON position to the OFF position, and the driver door is opened (Door courtesy SW on), current flows to TERMINAL 21 of the combination meter stops. As a result, the combination meter is activated and current flows into TERMINAL 1 of the combination meter and out TERMINAL 40 to GROUND, and the buzzer in the combination meter goes on to remind the driver that the lights are still on.

  2. Key Reminder System

If the driver door is opened, the ignition SW is in the OFF position and the ignition key is still in the key cylinder (Unlock warning SW on), a signal is received from the unlock warning SW by TERMINAL 15 of the combination meter, and from the door courtesy SW front LH by TERMINAL 26 of the combination meter. As a result, the buzzer in the combination meter goes on and warns the driver that the key is still in the key cylinder.
