Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT DLC3 (TC TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    2. Measure the voltage.

      Standard 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D4-13 (TC) - D4-4 (CG) 10 to 14 V
    3. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

    NG:  Go to step  3

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check whether CAN system DTCs are recorded. (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM ).
      DTC OUTPUT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed To
      DTC not output A
      DTC output B

    B: REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS 

    A: REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance.

      Standard 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D4-4 (CG) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - DLC3) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance.

      Standard (1GR-FE) 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D4-13 (TC) - E8-23 (TC) Below 1 Ω

      Standard (2TR-FE) 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D4-13 (TC) - E7-17 (TC) Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the resistance.

      Standard 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D4-13 (TC) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance.

      Standard 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S1-25 (CANL) - E7-34 (CANL) Below 1 Ω
      S1-11 (CANH) - E7-33 (CANH) Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the ECM connector.
    5. Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  6. CHECK ECM (DLC3 (TC) INPUT) 
    1. Connect terminals TC and CG of DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Check if the ECM warning light is blinking.

      OK: ECM warning light is blinking. 

    4. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    5. Disconnect the TC and CG terminals of DLC3.

    NG: REPLACE ECM

    OK: REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID
