Steering Angle Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Install the steering angle sensor to the spiral cable.
      NOTE:
      • Engage the claws securely.
      • Do not damage the claws.
  2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE  (See INSPECTION )
  3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  4. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. CENTER SPIRAL CABLE  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL STEERING PAD  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSPECT STEERING PAD  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT  (See INSTALLATION )
