Engine Control System (2GR-FE) - System And Component Testing, Removal, Inspection And Installation: ECM: Installation

  1. INSTALL NO. 2 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Install the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Install the 2 screws and No. 1 ECM bracket.

  3. INSTALL ECM 
    1. Install the 2 nuts, bolt and ECM.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

    2. Install the wire harness clamp.
    3. Connect the 5 ECM connectors.
    4. Install the harness connector.
  4. INSTALL TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU  (See INSTALLATION )

  5. INSTALL CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) (w/ Smart Key System)  (See REMOVAL )
  6. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side (See INSTALLATION ).

  9. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side (See INSTALLATION ).

  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  11. RESISTER TRANSMITTER ID 
    NOTE: If the tire pressure warning ECU is replaced, resister the transmitter ID (See REGISTRATION ).
  12. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM 
    NOTE: If the tire pressure warning ECU is replaced, inspect the tire pressure warning system (See TEST MODE PROCEDURE ).
  13. INITIALIZE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to register the transmitter IDs of all tires in the ECU before initialization.
    • Be sure to inflate all tires to the proper inflation pressure before initialization.

    See INITIALIZATION

  14. REGISTER IMMOBILISER COMMUNICATION ID 
    NOTE: If the ECM is replaced, register the ECU communication ID for the immobiliser system (See REGISTRATION w/ Smart Key System, See REGISTRATION w/o Smart Key System).
  15. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE: If the ECM is replaced, perform RESET MEMORY (AT initialization) (See INITIALIZATION ).
