Stabilizer Control Valve: Installation

  1. INSTALL STABILIZER CONTROL WITH ACCUMULATOR HOUSING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the stabilizer control with accumulator housing with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 32 N*m (326 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf)

    2. Install the bleeder plug.

      Torque: 9.5 N*m (97 kgf*cm, 84 in.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      The bleeder plug cap will be installed after bleeding air.

  2. CONNECT REAR NO. 2 STABILIZER CONTROL TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the rear No. 2 stabilizer control tube to the stabilizer control with accumulator housing.

  3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 1 STABILIZER CONTROL TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a union nut wrench, temporarily install the rear No. 1 stabilizer control tube to the stabilizer control with accumulator housing.

    2. Install the bolt to the vehicle.

      Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

  4. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 STABILIZER CONTROL TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a union nut wrench, temporarily install the front No. 2 stabilizer control tube to the front No. 1 stabilizer control tube.
    2. Install the bolt to the vehicle.

      Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf) 

  5. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 AND REAR NO. 1 STABILIZER CONTROL TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily install the front No. 2 and rear No. 1 stabilizer control tube to the 2 stabilizer control adapters.

  6. INSTALL STABILIZER CONTROL ADAPTER SUBASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 stabilizer control adapters to the vehicle with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 32 N*m (326 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf)

  7. TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 STABILIZER CONTROL TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a union nut wrench, tighten the rear No. 1 stabilizer control tube.

      Torque: without union nut wrench 

      44 N*m (450 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf) 

      with union nut wrench 

      40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
      • The torque value for use with a union nut wrench is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.

  8. TIGHTEN FRONT NO. 2 STABILIZER CONTROL TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a union nut wrench, tighten the front No. 2 stabilizer control tube.

      Torque: without union nut wrench 

      44 N*m (450 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf) 

      with union nut wrench 

      40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
      • The torque value for use with a union nut wrench is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.

  9. TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 STABILIZER CONTROL TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a union nut wrench, tighten the rear No. 2 stabilizer control tube.

      Torque: without union nut wrench 

      44 N*m (450 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf) 

      with union nut wrench 

      40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
      • The torque value for use with a union nut wrench is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
  10. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. INSTALL TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )

  12. BLEED AIR FROM SUSPENSION FLUID 
    1. Bleed the air from the suspension fluid (See BLEEDING  ).
  13. INSPECT FOR SUSPENSION FLUID LEAK  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  14. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. MEASURE VEHICLE HEIGHT  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  16. CLOSE STABILIZER CONTROL WITH ACCUMULATOR HOUSING SHUTTER VALVE 
    NOTE:
    • Perform the inspection on a level surface.
    • Perform the inspection with the vehicle empty.
    • Ensure that the wheels are on the ground and facing straight ahead.
    • Perform the inspection with the vehicle load completely on the suspension.
    1. Using a 5 mm socket hexagon wrench, tighten the lower and upper chamber shutter valves of the stabilizer control with accumulator housing.

      Torque: 14 N*m (143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf) 

  17. INSTALL STABILIZER CONTROL VALVE PROTECTOR 
    1. Install the valve protector with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Attach the clamp, and connect the connector to the valve protector.
