Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH 
    1. Turn the window lock switch OFF and operate the switches on the master switch. Check that the remote UP / DOWN function operates normally.

      OK: Remote UP / DOWN function operates normally  .

      NG: Go to step  2

      OK: END 

  2. CHECK MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the passenger door power window and rear door power window manual UP / DOWN function operates normally.

      OK: Manual UP / DOWN function operates normally  .

      NG: Go to step  3

      OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH  (See POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH )

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the power window master switch connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage 

    VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    I3-6 (B) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. INSPECT POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    6 (B) - 16 (U)
    15 (D) - 1 (E)
    UP (Front passenger side) Below 1 Ω
    6 (B) - 15 (D)
    16 (U) - 1 (E)
    DOWN (Front passenger side) Below 1 Ω
    6 (B) - 12 (U)
    13 (D) - 1 (E)
    UP (Rear LH) Below 1 Ω
    6 (B) - 13 (D)
    12 (U) - 1 (E)
    DOWN (Rear LH) Below 1 Ω
    6 (B) - 10 (U)
    18 (D) - 1 (E)
    UP (Rear RH) Below 1 Ω
    6 (B) - 18 (D)
    10 (U) - 1 (E)
    DOWN (Rear RH) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH  (See POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - FRONT PASSENGER, REAR LH/RH SWITCH) 
    1. Front passenger side:
      1. Disconnect the power window switch (passenger side) connector.
      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I3-16 (U) - H3-5 (SU) Always Below 1 Ω
      I3-15 (D) - H3-2 (SD) Always Below 1 Ω
      I3-16 (U) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I3-15 (D) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Rear LH side:
      1. Disconnect the power window switch (rear LH side) connector.
      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I3-12 (U) - K1-5 (SU) Always Below 1 Ω
      I3-13 (D) - K1-2 (SD) Always Below 1 Ω
      I3-12 (U) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I3-13 (D) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    3. Rear RH side:
      1. Disconnect the power window switch (rear RH side) connector.
      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    I3-10 (U) - J1-5 (SU) Always Below 1 Ω
    I3-18 (D) - J1-2 (SD) Always Below 1 Ω
    I3-10 (U) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    I3M1-18 (D) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    OK (Front passenger side) B
    OK (Rear LH side) C

    B: REPLACE POWER WINDOW SWITCH (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE) (See  FRONT PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH  ) 

    C: REPLACE POWER WINDOW SWITCH (REAR LH SIDE) (See  REAR POWER WINDOW SWITCH  )

    D: REPLACE POWER WINDOW SWITCH (REAR RH SIDE) (See  REAR POWER WINDOW SWITCH  ) 

    A: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
