Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E52-5 (REV) - Body ground Ignition switch ON
      Shift lever is in R
      11 to 14 V
      E52-5 (REV) - Body ground Ignition switch ON
      Shift lever is in any position except R
      Below 1 V

      NG: Go to step   2 

      OK: REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH, PNP SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the back-up light switch*1 or the park/neutral position switch*2.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance: 

      for Manual Transmission / Transaxle*1 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E52-5 (REV) - B30-1*3 Always Below 1 Ω
      E52-5 (REV) - B35-1*4 Always Below 1 Ω
      E52-5 (REV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      HINT:
      • *1: for Manual Transmission / Transaxle
      • *2: for Automatic Transmission / Transaxle
      • *3: for 2AZ-FE
      • *4: for 2ZR-FE

      for Automatic Transmission / Transaxle*2 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E52-5 (REV) - B13-1 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      E52-5 (REV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CONFIRM MODEL 

    Result 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    for Manual Transmission / Transaxle A
    for Automatic Transmission / Transaxle B

    B: Go to step  5

    A: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH - BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B30-2 - Body ground*3 Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      B35-2 - Body ground*4 Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      HINT:
      • *3: for 2AZ-FE
      • *4: for 2ZR-FE

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      NG A
      OK (for C59 Manual Transmission / Transaxle) B
      OK (for E351 Manual Transmission / Transaxle) C

      B: REPLACE BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH (for C59 Manual Transmission / Transaxle)  (See REMOVAL )

      C: REPLACE BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH (for E351 Manual Transmission / Transaxle)  (See REMOVAL )

      A: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B13-2 (RB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      Result

      B: REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH (for U250E Automatic Transmission / Transaxle)  (See REMOVAL )

      C: REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH (for U341E Automatic Transmission / Transaxle)  (See REMOVAL )

      D: REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH (for U140F Automatic Transmission / Transaxle)  (See REMOVAL )

      A: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
