Inspection Procedure

HINT:

• If troubleshooting (wire harness inspection) is difficult to perform, remove the front passenger seat installation bolts to access the underside of the seat cushion.
• In the above case, hold the seat so that it does not fall down. Holding the seat for a long period of time may damage the seat or deform the seat rails. Hold the seat only as necessary.

1. CHECK FOR DTC 
   1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   2. Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
   3. Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor assembly (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
   4. Turn the ignition switch off.
   5. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
   6. Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

      OK: 

      DTC B1795 is not output  .

      HINT:

      Codes other than B1795 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

      NG: Go to Next Step 

      OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (See  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ) 

2. REPLACE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY 
   1. Turn the ignition switch off.
   2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
   3. Replace the front seat cushion assembly (with occupant classification ECU and occupant classification sensor) (See REMOVAL ).
   4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
   5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   6. Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
   7. Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor assembly (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
   8. Turn the ignition switch off.
   9. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   10. Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

       OK: 

       DTC is not output  .

3. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
   1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
   2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   3. Using the Techstream, perform zero point calibration (See INITIALIZATION ).
   4. Turn the ignition switch off.
   5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   6. Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

      HINT:

      If the DTCs are not cleared at this time, past DTCs will remain.

4. PERFORM SENSITIVITY CHECK 
   1. Perform the sensitivity check (See INITIALIZATION ).
