Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
If the steering column or power steering ECU is replaced, perform rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION
).
- CHECK FOR DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
- Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTC is not output .
NG: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
OK: Go to Next Step
- Check for DTCs.
- CHECK FOR DTC (POWER STEERING SYSTEM)
- Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR
).
Result
RESULT REFERENCEResult Proceed to DTC is not output. A DTC C1551 or C1552 is output. B B: REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )
A: Go to Next Step
- Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR
).
- CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Check the combination meter assembly condition.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Check that the P/S warning light comes on for 3 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON.
OK:
The combination meter assembly operates normally .
NG: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
OK: REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU (See POWER STEERING ECU )
- Check the combination meter assembly condition.
