Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage

NG: Go to step 2
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER)
- Disconnect the radio receiver connector and the stereo component amplifier connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition E40-7 (MUTE) - E34-1 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω E40-7 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher Courtesy of © TOYOTA, LICENSE AGREEMENT TMS1002
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to Next Step
- INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER (OUTPUT SIGNAL)
- Reconnect the stereo component amplifier connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition E40-7 (MUTE) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC, Audio system is playing. Above 3.5 V NG: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER (See REMOVAL )
OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER (See REMOVAL )
