How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Interview the customer to confirm the problem.

    HINT:

    It is important to collect as much specific information as possible from the customer to allow for a quick repair.

  3. ADJUST TIRE PRESSURE* 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Set all tire pressures to the specified value (s) (See TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM ).
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
    6. Read the "ID Tire Inflation Pressure" values.
    7. Check the Data List (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).

    HINT:

    • It takes about 2 or 3 minutes to display the updated tire pressure data.
    • If the problem that caused the tire pressure warning light to come on was low tire pressure, wait until all of the tire pressure data is updated in the ECU.

    When the data is updated, the tire pressure warning light will go off. Result

    Tire pressure warning light goes off A
    Tire pressure warning light remains on B

    A: Go to step   9 

    B: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

    Result 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is output A
    DTC is not output B

    B: Go to step   6 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  5. DTC CHART 
    1. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).

    NEXT: Go to step   7 

  6. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
  7. CIRCUIT INSPECTION* 
    1. Refer to Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
  8. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
    1. Repair or replace parts based on the diagnosis result.
  9. CONFIRMATION TEST* 
    1. Check the Data List to confirm that the tire inflation pressures have been received (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).
    2. Perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION ).
    3. Confirm that the initialization has been completed.
