REAR SPEED SENSOR (for 4WD): Removal

HINT:

• Use the same procedure for RH side and LH side except for the step to remove the rear sensor clip.
• If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear drive shaft assembly.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) 
4. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK OUTER HINGE COVER (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
5. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK INNER HINGE COVER (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
6. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
7. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 
8. REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
9. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT CENTER OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
10. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK OUTER HINGE COVER (for RH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
11. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK INNER HINGE COVER (for RH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
12. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH  (See DISASSEMBLY )
13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
14. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
15. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for RH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
16. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH (for RH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
17. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
18. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
19. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
20. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH (for RH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
21. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
22. REMOVE FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE PROTECTOR (for LH Side) 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and fuel tank filler pipe protector.
23. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR LH (for LH Side) 
    1. Disconnect the rear speed sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the grommet of the rear speed sensor wire from the hole in the wheel well.
    3. Remove bolt A and separate the No. 3 sensor clamp.

    4. Disconnect the sensor clip LH from the breather clamp.
    5. Remove bolt B and separate the No. 2 sensor clamp from the suspension member.
    6. Remove the nut and separate the No. 1 sensor clamp from the upper arm.
    7. Remove bolt C and the rear speed sensor body from the rear axle carrier.
       NOTE: Keep the sensor tip and rear speed sensor installation hole free of foreign matter.
24. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR RH (for RH Side) 
    1. Disconnect the rear speed sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the grommet of the rear speed sensor wire from the hole in the wheel well.
    3. Remove bolt A and separate the No. 3 sensor clamp.

    4. Disconnect the sensor clip from the breather clamp.
    5. Remove bolt B and separate the No. 2 sensor clamp from the suspension member.
    6. Remove the nut and separate the No. 1 sensor clamp from the upper arm.
    7. Remove bolt C and rear speed sensor body from the rear axle carrier.
       NOTE: Keep the sensor tip and rear speed sensor installation hole free of foreign matter.
