  1. INSTALL RACK & PINION POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the power steering gear assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 70 N*m (714 kgf*cm, 52 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not turn the nut because the nut has its own stopper. Tighten the bolt with the nut fixed.

  2. CONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using SST, connect the pressure feed tube assembly to the power steering gear assembly.

      • SST: 09023-12701 

      Torque: 22 N*m (227 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.).

      HINT: 

      This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.

    2. Using SST, connect the return tube assembly to the power steering gear assembly.

      • SST: 09023-12701 

      Torque: 22 N*m (227 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.).

      HINT: 

      This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.

    3. Install the pressure feed tube clamp with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET NO. 1 LH 
    1. Install the stabilizer bar bush No. 1 to the stabilizer bar.

    2. Install the front stabilizer bracket No. 1 LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 27 N*m (275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET NO. 1 RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH 
  6. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the tie rod assembly LH to the steering knuckle LH with the castle nut.

      Torque: 49 N*m (500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install a new cotter pin.
      NOTE:

      If the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned, tighten the nut up to 60° further.

  8. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and the power steering gear assembly.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

  10. BLEED POWER STEERING FLUID 

    HINT: 

    Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

  11. INSPECT FOR POWER STEERING FLUID 
  12. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH 
  13. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH 
  14. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 
  15. INSPECT FRONT WHEELS 
  16. INSPECT FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    HINT: 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT
