Center Airbag Sensor Communication Stop Mode: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY SUB BUS LINE DISCONNECTION) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector:
      (to Center Airbag Sensor Assembly)
    2. Disconnect the center airbag sensor assembly connector (D23).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified value
      D23-13 (CANH) - D23-22 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IG2, E1, E2) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D23-25 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D23-26 (E2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D23-21 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
