Door Courtesy Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / Body / Data List.
    5. Read the display on the Techstream.
      BODY (BODY ECU)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      D door Courtesy SW Driver side door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver side door open
      OFF: Driver side door closed
      -
      P door Courtesy SW Passenger side door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Passenger side door open
      OFF: Passenger side door closed
      -
      Rear door Courtesy SW Rear (LH and RH) door courtesy switch / ON or OFF ON: Rear door (LH or RH) is open
      OFF: Rear door (LH and RH) is closed
      -

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EACH DOOR COURTESY LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Inspect the harness and connectors related to each light, referring to the wiring diagram.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  3. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH 
    1. Inspect front door courtesy switch. Refer to INSPECTION .
    2. Inspect rear door courtesy switch. Refer to INSPECTION .

      OK

      Each door courtesy switch is normal.

    NG → REPLACE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EACH COURTESY SWITCH CIRCUIT) 
    1. Inspect the harness and connectors related to each courtesy switch, referring to the wiring diagram.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
