DTC B1244: Light Sensor Circuit Malfunction: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Data List.
    5. Read the display on the Techstream.
      BODY (BODY ECU)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Illumination Rate Illumination rate information / 0 ms to 99.99 ms 0.8 ms to 22.0 ms (Value is output according to ambient light levels) -

      OK

      Normal condition listed above is displayed.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BODY ECU - AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the automatic light control sensor connector and D7 connector of the multiplex network body ECU.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      CLTE (F1-3) - CLTE (D7-4) Always Below 1 Ω
      CLTS (F1-5) - CLTS (D7-5) Always Below 1 Ω
      CLTB (F1-6) - CLTB (D7-6) Always Below 1 Ω
      CLTE (D7-4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      CLTS (D7-5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      CLTB (D7-6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Inspect automatic light control sensor. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

      OK

      Automatic light control sensor is normal.

    NG → REPLACE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR 

    OK → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
