Door Key Lock / Unlock Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR KEY LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH) 
    1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the tester on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the tester.
      MAIN BODY:

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      D Door Key SW-UL Door key lock and unlock switch signal (Driver) / ON or OFF ON: Door key is unlocked
      OFF: Door key is locked
      -

      OK

      On the tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to the chart above.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → PROCEED TO  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (DOOR KEY LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the front door lock assembly LH.

    2. Measure the resistance of the switch when the switch is operated.

      Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      10 - 7 ON
      (Door lock set to UNLOCK)
      Below 1 Ω
      9 - 7 OFF(
      Door lock set to LOCK)
      Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH - INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B) 
    1. Disconnect the D8 and H9 connectors.

    2. Remove the body ECU from instrument panel J/B.
    3. Measure the resistance of the switch when the switch is operated.

      Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      10 (L2) - H9-9 Always Below 1 Ω
      D8-8 (UL3) - H9-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      H9-7 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
