Driver Side Door UNLOCK Detection Switch Circuit: Procedure

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH)
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
- Turn the tester on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
- Read the Data List according to the display on the tester.MAIN BODY:
Tester Display Measurement Item/ Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note D-Door Lock Pos SW Door unlock detection switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Door is unlocked
OFF: Door is locked- OK
On the tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to the chart above.

OK → PROCEED TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (DOOR UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH)
- Remove the front door lock assembly LH.
- Measure the resistance of the door unlock detection switch.
Resistance
Tester Condition Door Lock Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4ON (Door lock set to UNLOCK) 7 - 8 (Below 1 Ω) Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4
Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1OFF (Door Lock set to LOCK) 7 - 8 (10 kΩ or higher)
NG → REPLACE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH - INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B)
- Disconnect the D8 and H9 connectors.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D8-7 (LSWD) - H9-8 Always Below 1 Ω H9-7 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → PROCEED TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
