Front Passenger Side Door Courtesy Switch Circuit: Procedure

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
- Turn the tester on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
- Read the Data List according to the display on the tester.MAIN BODY:
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note P Door Courtesy SW Door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Door is open
OFF: Door is closed- OK
On the tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to the chart above.

OK → PROCEED TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH
- Remove the courtesy switch.
- Measure the resistance of the switch.
Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 - Body ground Not Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω 1 - Body ground Pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH RH - INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B)
- Disconnect the D6 switch and L5 connectors.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D6-23 (PCTY) - L5-1 Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → PROCEED TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
