Rear Door Courtesy Switch RH Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH) 
    1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the tester on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the tester.
      MAIN BODY:

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Rear Door Courtesy SW Door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Door is open
      OFF: Door is closed
      -

      OK

      On the tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to the chart above.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → PROCEED TO  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  2. INSPECT REAR DOOR COURTESY SWITCH 
    1. Remove the courtesy switch.

    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      1 - Body ground Pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPLACE REAR DOOR COURTESY SWITCH 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR DOOR COURTESY SWITCH RH - INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B) 
    1. Disconnect the D8 and L7 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D8-16 (RCTY) - L7-1 Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
