Tire Pressure Warning System: Initialization
- DESCRIPTION OF INITIALIZATION
- Perform initialization in the following cases:
- Before delivery of a new vehicle.
- After replacement of the tire pressure warning ECU*.
- After a tire rotation (for 4WD models).
- After replacement of any of the tire pressure warning valve and transmitters*.
- After a different size or type of tire is fitted.
*: Perform initialization after transmitter ID registration is completed (See REGISTRATION ).
- Before initialization
- Set all tire pressures to the specified value (s) (See TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM ).
NOTE: Make sure the tires are cold. - Perform initialization in the following cases:
- INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
- Adjust all tire pressures to the standard tire inflation pressure, as indicated on the tire and loading information label on the vehicle.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch for 3 seconds or more so that the tire pressure warning light blinks 3 times.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
- Check that initialization has been completed.
- Confirm that tire pressure data of all wheels are displayed on the Techstream.NOTE:
- Initialization normally completes within 2 or 3 minutes.
- If initialization did not complete successfully, DTC C2177/77 will be set after a vehicle speed 8 km/h (5 mph) or more continues for 20 minutes or more.
- Initialization can be terminated by connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
