Inspection Procedure

NOTE: If the transponder key ECU assembly is replaced, register the key and ECU communication ID (See REGISTRATION ).
  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the transponder key ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E29-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      E29-2 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      E29-2 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR, OR REPLACE FUSE 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E29-16 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
