Installation (To 12/2010): Installation

  1. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
      WARNING:

      After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.

    3. Install the occupant classification ECU.
    4. Connect the 2 connectors to the occupant classification ECU.

      NOTE:
      • If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
      • When installing the occupant classification ECU, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
  2. INSTALL FRONT RH SEAT ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

      HINT: 

      Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.

  5. INSPECT CHECK POWER SEAT FUNCTION 
  6. INSPECT SEAT HEATER OPERATION 
  7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
