Heating / Air Conditioning: Condenser: Installation

  1. INSTALL CONDENSER ASSEMBLY WITH RECEIVER 
    1. Install the condenser assembly with receiver as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      If the condenser is replaced with a new one, add compressor oil to the new condenser.

      Capacity: 

      40 cc (1.35 fl.oz.) 

      Compressor oil: 

      ND-8 or equivalent

  2. CONNECT LIQUID PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the tube and the connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the tube joint.

      Compressor oil: 

      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent 

    3. Install the O-ring on the liquid pipe sub-assembly.
    4. Install the liquid pipe sub-assembly on the cooler condenser assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  3. CONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the pipe and the connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the pipe joint.

      Compressor oil: 

      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent 

    3. Install the O-ring on the discharge hose sub-assembly.

    4. Install the discharge hose sub-assembly on the cooler condenser assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)

  4. CHARGE WITH REFRIGERANT (See  REFRIGERANT  ) 
  5. INSTALL NO. 2 FAN SHROUD (for 2AZ-FE)  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL NO. 2 FAN SHROUD (for 2ZR-FE)  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2AZ-FE) 
    1. Install the upper radiator support sub-assembly with the 5 bolts.

      Torque: Bolt (1) 

      5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

      Bolt (2) 

      7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf)

    2. Connect the horn connector.

  8. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2ZR-FE) 
    1. Install the upper radiator support sub-assembly with the 5 bolts.

      Torque: Bolt(1) 

      5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

      Bolt (2) 

      7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf)

    2. Connect the horn connector.

  9. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE (for 2AZ-FE) 
    1. Connect the water by-pass hose with the 2 clamps.

  10. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE (for 2ZR-FE) 
    1. Connect the water by-pass hose with the 3 clamps.

  11. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT (for 2AZ-FE)  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT (for 2ZR-FE)  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  15. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  16. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/o Front Spoiler)  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Spoiler)  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. WARM UP ENGINE (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  19. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION   ) 
  20. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR FOG LIGHT AIMING ADJUSTMENT (w/ Fog Light)  (See INSTALLATION )
  21. PREPARATION FOR FOG LIGHT AIMING (w/ Fog Light)  (See INSTALLATION )
  22. INSPECT FOG LIGHT AIMING (w/ Fog Light)  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  23. ADJUST FOG LIGHT AIMING (w/ Fog Light)  (See ADJUSTMENT )
